Characteristics: Rose of Sharon is noted for its breathtaking display of uniquely-colored flowers that are produced in late Summer. Although pruning is not necessary when caring for this plant, it is a vigorous grower and can be pruned back in late Fall/early Spring. Rose of Sharon is overall an easy-care plant, highly adaptable to most soil conditions, very tolerant of heat and humidity, and lends its bold color to landscapes when most plants have finished flowering for the season.
