Serviceberry 'Shadblow' - Amelanchier Canadensis
This flowering/deciduous tree is a known early bloomer, also noted for its edible fruit; its berries are commonly used for jams/preserves or for baked goods. 'Shadblow' is self-pollinated, and attracts a wide variety of birds such as the Goldfinch, Bluejays, Cardinals and Robins. Use this tree as a yard specimen-- in the Spring it provides an elegant display of fragrant white flowers decorating the tree's bare branches.
