'Chicago Hardy' is a self-pollinating, drought-tolerant, easy to grow variety that bears fruit early on new growth. The sweet fruit ripens from July until frost. This tree can literally freeze over and still come back strong the following Spring, producing bushels of plump, delicious figs. 'Chicago Hardy' can serve as both an ornamental and a fruit tree-- it is equally effective as either a single specimen or in groups/as a screen.
